The app can translate information into 135 languages, while the physical medical ID card can be opened in case of unconsciousness. The Biggest Problem has Been People’s Lack of Health Information
Doctors approve the World Medical Card. Canary Islands Medical Doctor, Ole Petter Drønen, explains, “During 10 years as a practising MD on Gran Canaria, I have been reminded daily about patients’ need for medical certainty abroad. The biggest problem has been people’s lack of health information. This lack of information often leads to unnecessary examinations and hospital admissions, which steal valuable time and increase the risk of mis-medication.”
